Photography was a distinctive art genre in the 20th century. In contrast to today, only few people were considered to be outstanding photographers, and even fewer had the opportunity to capture famous people. One of the photographers who had the chance to take pictures of some of the most well-known people of the 20th century was Philippe Halsman.
