It’s hard to top the joy of seeing an adorable animal in someone’s day.
Recently, some people in Virginia stumbled upon a fawn in their yard, but unfortunately, the little animal was in serious need of assistance.

The young deer got itself trapped in the family’s window well.
Deer parents may often abandon their young in a safe location while they search for food, only to return to them later.
But they did the right thing by calling for help when they saw how desperate the situation had become for the baby.

It was reported last week that a deer had fallen into a window well in Great Falls, Virginia and that officers from the Fairfax County Police Department had been able to rescue it. Then, Officer Kolwicz leapt into the well, transferring the child to Officer Milburn, and the three hid in nearby bushes until the girl’s mother arrived.

They were rewarded for their hard work when they could take some cute pictures of the newborn calf and then place her where her mother could easily find her.
Wild animals litter in the spring, and sometimes those babies end up in strange places. Thankfully, there are clever solutions like covering up window wells that wild animals can fall into.
