Do you recognize the appearance of a pink dolphin? Pink dolphins do exist in the Amazon region, despite the misconception that it is a hoax.
They can reach a height of eight feet (2.5 m) and a weight of 400 pounds (180 kg), making them among the largest dolphins. However, their pink color makes them stand out much more. They were actually born with a dull gray tinge, and they only started to turn pink as they grew bigger.
Male dolphins can also turn pinker under certain circumstances, such as exposure to sunlight, poor nourishment, or when they are excited. In 2018, the dolphins of the Amazon River were granted international protection for the first time.
