It was important for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to live a more private life, away from the paparazzi and the expectations and pressures of the royal family. People say that they knew “within” days of their wedding that they didn’t want to stay in the Firm for long.
When Archie was born in 2019, the Sussexes had already taken a step towards privacy. They didn’t want to be used by the Crown as a “marionette puppet” for fans and the media around the world.
The news was “tricked” when Harry and Meghan’s son Archie was born.
In her book The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth’s Legacy and the Future of the Crown, royal expert Katie Nicholl wrote that Harry was “almost morbidly obsessed” with keeping Archie’s birth as secret as possible. This isn’t how royal babies are usually born.
Millions of loyal fans and most people in the public wanted to know more about the baby boy, but Harry and Meghan wanted to keep it quiet. This was seen as part of the “unwritten contract between the royals and the public.”
“Behind the scenes, things were so tense that more than one official—this is something I know from personal experience—cried tears of anger and sadness,” Rebecca English, royal editor of the Daily Mail, said.
When a royal baby is born, the parents usually stand on the hospital steps with their new child to pose for pictures with the press. The proud mum and dad answer a few questions after the pictures are taken and then go find some privacy.
Katie Nicholl says that Harry and Meghan wanted to have a different kind of birth for Archie. They lied to reporters and photographers instead of facing them directly.
Princess Charlotte, Prince George, and Prince Louis, who are William’s children, were all born at St. Mary’s Hospital, which is also where the traditional first baby pictures were taken. But Meghan’s doctor worked at Portland Hospital, so that’s where she should have given birth to Archie.

Lilibet’s birth was not quite the same. She was born in California in June 2021, and the paparazzi never even came close. Of course, Harry and Meghan Markle soon brought their kids back into the public eye.
The Sussees told everyone two years after Lilibet was born that they had given their children the titles of prince and princess. Harry and Meghan say that their children are born with the titles, but not everyone thought this was the best idea.
Angela Levin, an author and royal expert, says it could make things worse for Archie and Lilibet in the future.
Levin said at the time, “It will take a long time for little Lilibet to realise how much strain her parents have put on her young shoulders.”
She also said that Harry and Meghan have “glued” their daughter to the British Royal Family by giving her a royal title. This is the same establishment that Harry and Meghan have been critical of for many years.
“Why in the world would you want your daughter to go through that pain?” Levin asked, saying that Lilibet’s daily life would be harder now that she is a princess.

“Little girls love pretending to be princesses at parties,” the royal expert said. “But if Lilibet is the only real princess in her class, it could cause jealousy that is easy to avoid.”
Archie and Lilibet are, of course, growing up very quickly. In May, Archie turned five years old. Lilibet turned three a little over a week ago. The young princess’s big day was June 5, and there was a party to celebrate. However, no one from her royal family was there. Some people think that Princess Eugenie is the only royal who has been to California to see Harry, Meghan, and their kids.
Interestingly, King Charles still doesn’t get along with Harry and his daughter-in-law, but he is said to be “heartbroken” about the relationship he doesn’t have with Archie and Lilibet.
To give you an idea, the King has only met Archie five times and Lilibet just once.
Ingrid Seward, author of My Mother and I: The Inside Story of the King and Our Late Queen and a royal expert, told the Mirror that Charles’s love for Archie and Liiibet has grown stronger since he knows he “won’t be around forever.”
“The King has always valued family.” He remembers that his childhood was a bit jumbled because his parents were always busy with work. “He feels very sad that he doesn’t get to see Archie and Lilibet more,” Seward said.
“That’s why he won’t cut ties with Harry.” He doesn’t want to be friends on FaceTime with his son’s kids. He wants to get to know them and be a part of their lives while they are still young enough to learn from him. He feels even more strongly about it now that he knows he won’t be around forever because of his cancer.

What Harry and Meghan’s kids do when they grow up is something that only time will tell. They are free to do and become anything they want, even working royals. But their parents probably want them to go to some of the best and most expensive schools in the world.
Remember that family members in the UK have gone to well-known schools like Eton in England and Gordonstoun in Scotland. But it is said that the Sussexes wouldn’t let their son go to school in the UK.
Allison Davis, a journalist for The Cut in 2022, wrote about a conversation she had with Meghan Markle in which the Duchess said she didn’t want her son Archie to go to school in the UK because she was worried about his safety.
As we talked about her plans for the new life she’s making here, Davis wrote, “she said that if Archie went to school in the UK, she’d never be able to pick him up and drop him off without it being a royal photo call with 40 people taking pictures.”
Meghan told Allison, “I’m sorry, but that doesn’t work for me.” That doesn’t mean I’m crazy about privacy. Taking care of my child like that makes me a strong and good parent.

“School fees in our area range from $60,000 to $50,000 or more for older grades,” he said. “At most of the schools, all of the students go on to attend four-year colleges.”
Lee Cohen, an American journalist, has come out against the royal couple and called them “frauds.” During an interview with GB News, he said that the Sussexes’ plans to send their kids to a “outrageously expensive” school are “infuriating,” especially since they care a lot about equal rights.
Cohen said, “It’s completely upsetting to hear that Harry and Meghan, who say they support equality and social justice, are even thinking about putting their kids in an exclusive, ridiculously expensive school.”
