In his honest autobiography, Spare, Prince Harry has written a lot about his time as a working royal.
The book has sold more than a million copies since it came out last Tuesday. It’s likely to be one of the best-selling books of the year.
In the book, Harry made a lot of claims and said bad things about some Royal Family members, like his father, King Charles, his brother, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and his stepmother, Camilla. Apart from that, Harry also wrote some things about Prince George and how he felt about having his oldest nephew.

Harry says he thought about how he would watch George grow up when George was born. Things haven’t gone as planned since then, and now a royal expert is worried that the information Harry gave in Spare could hurt George in the future.
William and Kate left St. Mary’s Hospital on July 22, 2013, to report the birth of their first child, Prince George, who will become King of England. It seems like only yesterday.
There has been a lot of change since then.
The royal kids
For one, Prince Harry met Meghan Markle, fell in love with her, and married her. After leaving royal life, they got into a nasty fight with the Firm that has been going on across the Atlantic Ocean. Also, the sad death of Queen Elizabeth last year means that Harry’s father, Charles, is now king.
What’s maybe even more important is that the royal family has been blessed with more family members. For William and Kate, that meant having two more children.
In the future, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis probably won’t be as important as their big brother, Prince George, but they will still be very important to his kingdom. It’s clear that William and Kate have a lot to do to get them ready.
But it’s said that their parents really want them to have a normal life.
2015 was the year Princess Charlotte was born. That same year, three years later, William and Kate’s third child, Prince Louis, was born.
Not only Kate and William, though; other family members also got to welcome new members. Meghan gave birth to Archie, their first child together, in May 2018. In 2021, they had a girl named Lilibet.
It was obviously a big deal when Prince George was born because he was the first royal child from the “next generation.” Not just for parents William and Kate, but for the whole Royal Family, even Harry.

When George was born, Harry became an uncle for the first time. He writes about it in his new book, Spare.
“I had an uncle.” George, Willy and Kate’s first child, was born. He was beautiful. Harry remembered, “I couldn’t wait to teach him about rugby, Rorke’s Drift, flying, and corridor cricket. I also wanted to give him some tips on how to make it in the fishbowl.”
People asked Harry about his new nephew and how he felt about being an uncle when he went to an event in 2013.
When I saw Prince George, he was crying like all kids do, but it’s great to have a new family member. “I hope my brother knows how much it will cost to have me babysit,” Harry said.
When asked what his main job as an uncle would be, Harry said, “To make sure he has a good upbringing, to keep him out of harm’s way, and to make sure he has fun.” I’ll let the parents handle the rest.
After two years, William and Kate had a daughter named Princess Charlotte. Harry became an uncle for the second time, but he was away from home more than he might have liked at the time.
I went to Australia for military drills and while I was there I heard that Willy and Kate had their second child. Charlotte. “I was happy to be an uncle again,” he wrote in Spare.
Harry says George never asked him to hang out with him.
It took William and Kate more room after George was born. That meant moving into the Palace of Kensington. Harry, on the other hand, moved into Nottingham Cottage, which is right next door to where his brother now lives.
Though, he didn’t feel like something was wrong for long. In his book, the Duke wrote about how happy he was to have moved into Nottingham Cottage, which was only a short walk from Kensington Palace. Or, as he put it, ‘half a football pitch away’ from his house. That’s where he could hear William and Kate’s babysitter pushing the pram all the time.
He said, “It was nice to leave the old place, but it was even better to live next door to Willy and Kate.” He also said, “I could see myself stopping by to see them all the time.”
Harry wished he could visit William and Kate, hang out with George, and “throw himself on the floor” to wrestle with his cousin.
Harry said that things were very different in reality.
“I thought that they would invite me to their house at any time.” He says, “But the days went by, and it didn’t happen.” “I get it,” I thought. They have a lot to do! Putting together a family! Or maybe… three is a lot. Things might be different after I get married.
Since the very public talk with Oprah in 2020, Harry and Meghan Markle have been very clear about what they think of the royal family. When their new Netflix documentary series came out in December, they continued to say how unhappy they were with their royal life.
It is said that Harry could “harm” George in the future.
One thing that keeps coming up is that Harry thought Meghan wasn’t welcome in the Royal Family. In fact, the Duchess has said that she feels a bit shut out.
Things got even more scary on Tuesday, when Harry’s autobiography, Spare, came out. It was in the book that the prince wrote about his whole life, from growing up as a king to what happened after Princess Diana died to his time in the army and his fight with his brother William.
He also said bad things about some members of the Royal Family, like Kate Middleton and his stepmother Camilla.
The young Prince George, on the other hand, might have to pay the most for Harry’s claims against the royal family in the end. Expert on the royal family for the Daily Express, Angela Epstein, says Harry may have “overlooked the damage he could do” to George.
“Given how tragic his young life was, Harry must naturally care about his nephew George,” Epstein says, “Harry has always shown love for his brother’s three young children as the caring and fun-loving uncle.”
“So George, as second in line to the throne, should be worried about how the Duke’s anger towards the monarchy might hurt him in any way.”
Harry’s huge hit with “Spare”
“Unfortunately, that doesn’t look like it will be the case,” she said. Because of this, George, who is only nine years old and still wears short trousers, may well receive a monarchy that is broken and less powerful.
So far, the British royal family has chosen not to say anything about anything in Spare. Beginning in 2023, King Charles, Prince William, and Kate Middleton all began their royal tasks again. It’s interesting that none of them have answered questions about Harry and his book.
Someone from the press asked the Prince if he had read Harry’s book yet as he and Kate left the Open Door Charity in Merseyside. Later, as he was walking to the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, a photographer yelled, “Do you ever plan to say anything about Harry’s book, sir?”
They both didn’t get a reply.
A third person asked, “Have you read your brother’s book at all?” but there was silence.
It’s safe to say that the royal family isn’t too excited about Harry’s book and all the charges and claims it makes. In fact, they might be angry about it.
That being said, Harry has every reason to be happy: Spare was a huge hit on its very first day on sale.
Penguin Random House, the publisher of Spare, says that the book is on track to become the fastest-selling non-fiction book of all time. On its first day, the book sold 400,000 hard copies, e-books, and audiobooks.
Larry Finlay, managing director of Transworld Penguin Random House, said, “We always knew this book would do well, but it’s even better than we thought it would be.”
That’s all we know of. The only books that sold more on their first day were those with the other Harry Potter.

Harry’s autobiography is already the best-selling book on Amazon.co.uk, and it’s likely to be the best-selling book of 2023 as well.
New numbers from Penguin Random House came out on Thursday. They showed that Spare sold 1.4 million books on its first day in the UK, US, and Canada. It came out in sixteen languages around the world.
Some parts of the book were leaked to the public before it came out, but its content has continued to be talked about on TV, in newspapers, and on the Internet.
Gina Centrello, President and Publisher of the Random House Group, said, “Spare is the story of someone we may have thought we already knew; it is vulnerable and heartfelt, brave and intimate. Now we can truly come to understand Prince Harry through his own words.”
“These amazing first-day sales make it clear that readers agree: Spare is a book that begs to be read, and we are proud to publish it,” she said.
A lot of people are looking forward to Harry’s book, but not everyone is excited about what he has to say. The Express said that about 4.1 million people watched the prince’s chat with ITV on Sunday. At the same time, the BBC showed the thriller Happy Valley, which about 5.3 million people watched.
The bad trend can also be used to describe how people feel about Harry. According to a new YouGov poll that was released in The Times, only 24% of people in the UK still think positively of him. That’s less than the 80% that said that ten years ago; now, only 68% say that.
What the poll found was that Harry and Meghan were even less popular with people over 65 than Prince Andrew.
