Once a mom, always a mom. 98 years old Ada Keating is the living proof of this saying. She moved into the same Nursing Home where her son Tom has been admitted to. The sole intention of her stay at the nursing home is to take care of her loving son.
Ada and Tom live in Liverpool, England. She was once a nurse. Now in her late 90s she still finds passion in doing what she loves.
In her eyes, Tom is sill a little kid. She sometimes tells me to “behave” says Tom who was delighted to have her mother by her side.
“When I go out to the hairdressers, he’ll look for me to see when I’m coming back. When I get back, he’ll come to me with his arms outstretched and give me a big hug.” Ada says.
It seems that having been able to say good morning and good night to each other every day was itself enough for the both of them to be happy.
They spend as much time together reliving the glory of old days.
The manager of the care facility commented on the unique situation: “It’s very touching to see the close relationship both Tom and Ada share and we are so pleased we were able to accommodate both of their needs. It’s very rare to see mothers and their children together in the same care home, and we certainly want to make their time together as special as possible.”
