We only have one life. That is why we should make the most of our lives. However, some people accidentally push aside their enthusiasm due to life’s anxieties and concerns. They suddenly realize that this is not the life they want one day when everything is running smoothly. And it is these folks that make the most important decision of their lives. They are willing to leave all behind to pursue their ambition.
In this story, we’ll meet Dean Schneider, a 26-year-old man from Zurich, Switzerland! Two years ago, the young man made an outstanding choice that astounded his family, friends, and coworkers. He resigned from his prestigious job, sold all his possessions, and relocated to Africa to save wild animals.
Dean adores animals. He developed an early appreciation for and respect for wildlife. He goes to great lengths to fulfil his dream of rescuing and caring for as many wild animals as possible. He considers all efforts to be worthwhile!
The young man established Hakuna Mipaka, a wildlife sanctuary. It translates as ‘no bounds’ in Swahili dialect, which is also the case with Dean’s plans: limitless!
The sanctuary encompasses 400 hectares. It is now home to various animal species, such as lions, zebras, hyenas, raccoons, monkeys, snakes, iguanas, and cheetahs. The private zoo transforms into a haven for these animals due to six armed security guards who keep poachers at bay.
“Animal claws and teeth are sold on the black market for various reasons, ranging from superstition to traditional medicine. And these are sold both locally and throughout Asia, “Dean explains.
Some people are perplexed as to why Dean does not reintroduce these animals to the wild. The young man explains that captive-bred animals are incapable of surviving in the wild independently. They are unable to hunt.
Dean hopes that by launching this project, he can raise global awareness of the dangers these animals face due to humans. The selfless and dedicated man posts educational videos about wildlife to assist people in comprehending their circumstances. Here is the link to his YouTube channel!
“My goal is to educate as many people as possible about wildlife and the wonders of the animal kingdom. I believe in the transformative power of knowledge, passion, and visual narratives to alter people’s perceptions and save wildlife, “Dean explains.
