We can say that Oprah Winfrey has had a long and successful career at this point. She likes spending time with her partner Stedman Graham in their home in Montecito these days.
Though Oprah has had a lot of success, she has also been through a lot of hard times over the years. Actually, the famous TV host just recently said that she doesn’t have that many friends after all.
Then why is that? Oprah says there’s an easy reason for it.
It looks like Oprah Winfrey is finally taking it easy after a long, busy, and very successful career. In the beginning, she worked as a TV reporter and co-hosted the six o’clock news on WJZ-TV. She was fired, though, and went to work at the news desk, where an editor yelled at her every night.

Oprah said, “I wasn’t a good writer; I wasn’t fast enough.”
“I didn’t get fired in the end, but I did get sent to the talk show, which back then was a big step down.” That’s where it all started. That’s why I thank him. He became a leading light by accident.
The job that Oprah got to host the TV show People Are Talking really took off. It was eight years before she got her own talk show in Chicago. It was called AM Chicago, but in 1986 it was changed to The Oprah Winfrey Show.
Oprah joined a TV business that was mostly made up of white men. As a young black woman, she was one of the first in her field, and her presence quickly turned into a change.
Millions of people watched the Oprah Winfrey show over and over again. Oprah talked to more than 37,000 people on her talk show over the course of 25 years. These people ranged from regular people with everyday problems to Michael Jackson and President Obama.
At some point or another, there was someone on the show from every possible background.
More than 90 million people watched the Michael Jackson interview, making it one of the most-watched conversations in TV history.
Oprah said, “It was the most exciting interview I’ve ever done.” “We’re entering Neverland through the gates, and it feels like a scene from The Wizard of Oz.”
“Going to see the wizard was just like that.” We didn’t believe it. “I felt like a child.”
The show ended in 2011.
The Oprah Winfrey Show will continue through the 2010–2011 season thanks to a new deal Oprah signed. More than 200 stations in the US and more than 100 places around the world showed the show at the time.
When her deal ended in 2011, Oprah ended her show, which had been a hit for 25 years.
For her, the show had been her whole life. “I love this show so much that I know when it’s time to say goodbye,” she said. “Twenty-five years feels right in my spirit and in my bones.” That’s the right number. It’s just the right time.
Eight Daytime Emmy Awards were given to the show. In 2011, Oprah also won the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Four times, Oprah got the People’s Choice Award for “Favorite Talk Show Host.”
She was then given the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama in 2013.
In her life, Oprah has met a lot of people, both on stage and in real life. She isn’t quite the friend magnet you might think she would be, though.
In an interview for the show Making Space, Oprah said she doesn’t have many friends. She only cares about a small group of people, and there’s a good reason for that.

“Okay, I don’t have many friends.” Gayle King is well known by everyone. Gayle, Maria, and Bob [Greene] are all there. That’s all there is to it, right? Gayle and Maria I met around the same time, and I never really made that group bigger. “Until recently, I’ve only made friends with a few people in my later years, in the last five years,” she said.
Today, having lots of friends isn’t that important. What’s important is having friends who care about you. They call Gayle King “the third wheel” to Stedman and Oprah after her split from her husband in the 1990s. King is Oprah’s friend.
“I’m proud to be a third wheel,” Gayle said. “I don’t feel bad about that.” I lost my marriage in 1994, and ever since then I’ve been their third wheel. Because Stedman is always friendly, I never think to ask, “When are we going to that place?” when she says, “We’re going to that place.”
She also said, “It doesn’t occur to me that I’m not invited.” “But we’ve had some great trips together over the years.” That’s not going to change.
Steven Graham and Oprah have been together for more than 30 years. In 1986, she met the business leader and author at a charity event. Soon after, they told everyone about their relationship.
In 1987, he called his girlfriend on The Oprah Winfrey Show to surprise her. He asked her, “Do you recognize my voice or not?”
Graham asked Oprah to marry him at her house in Indiana in 1992.

They were going to get married the next year, but in the end they decided not to.
Stedman and Oprah have been together for a long time. However, the talk show host said that even if they were married, they would still be together.
“He doesn’t ask me for things like, ‘Where’s my breakfast?'” “Where is my dinner?” “Never any of that, which I thought would have changed if we were married,” Oprah Winfrey told Yahoo.
“There was no way we were going to stay married. I had my own ideas about it, and I knew what it would mean to him.” I haven’t felt bad about that at all.
Oprah doesn’t have any kids. She did think about it after she got engaged to Stedman, though.
Winfrey said, “At one point in Chicago, I bought an extra apartment because I thought, ‘Well, if we get married, I’m going to need room for children.'”

But she changed her mind for some reason. She was busy with The Oprah Winfrey Show at the time. She said that being on the show made her realize how much responsibility and “sacrifice” motherhood takes.
She really values moms very much because of this. Oprah tries not to think about the past and what could have been.
She said, “I realized, ‘Whoa, I’m talking to a lot of messed-up people.’ They are messed-up because their parents didn’t know how serious that job is.'”
“I don’t know how to separate things the way I see other women do.” Because of this, I have always had a lot of respect for women who choose to stay at home with their kids. I don’t know how they do it all day. Women don’t get the credit they earn.
A lot of tourists look at the big castles in Bel Air, Calabasas, or Hollywood Hills as they drive by the homes of famous people in the Hollywood area. People can’t get too close to popular people like actors, singers, and other performers because their homes are usually surrounded by big fences and trees.
That’s also Oprah’s, but she’s not in Hollywood anymore.
Robert and Marlene Veloz brought Winfrey to a party at their home in Montecito, California, in 2001. Montecito is near Santa Barbara, California. The 42-acre site was truly amazing. She fell in love with him right away.
Where does Oprah Winfrey live?
She made up her mind that she wanted to buy the house. She paid the owners almost $52 million to get it, even though it wasn’t for sale.
The land is said to be worth an amazing $100 million now.
There are many big homes in Montecito. Ellen DeGeneres, Jeff Bridges, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus are just a few of the famous people who own homes there. It has long areas of beautiful Pacific Ocean coastline. In the meantime, the nearby city of Santa Barbara has lots of restaurants and cute shops.
But Santa Barbara isn’t Los Angeles. A big city’s stress is likely one reason why a lot of famous people, like Oprah, choose to live in Santa Barbara, where things are much calmer. Also, there aren’t as many cameras, and people in the area don’t seem to mind if a famous person stands behind them while they order coffee or wait in line for the bathroom.
The neighborhood where Oprah lives is great, and she has all the peace she wants.
She changed the name of her land to “The Promised Land,” and that’s not the only biblical reference she’s made.
She made room on her land for the 12 apostles, who look like 12 big, old oak trees. According to Vogue, she chose the name “the Apostles” as a sign.
Honor for her grandmother
There is a road that leads down to the trees called “Hallelujah Lane.” Oprah has posted pictures of one of the beautiful trees on her Instagram page.
Oprah said that as a child, she only had a hydrangea bush in front of her grandmother’s house. She has put thousands of white hydrangeas along Hallelujah Lane to remember her grandmother because of this.
On her beautiful farm, the talk show host of many years has her own vegetable garden that she picks herself.
Oprah said, “I can get excited about little things.” “It’s just so nice that this just appeared out of nowhere.”
We miss Oprah Winfrey’s wonderful show a lot. She is one of the best TV hosts of all time.
